TSC (Temporary Study Center) is a long-term initiative focused on art and writing as forms of critical remembrance and counterhistory. TSC will address the place of aesthetics, mourning, resistance, outright refusal, and ambivalence in light of certain so-called progressive politics, sexual and otherwise. Through displays and exhibitions at Objectif Exhibitions, but also magazine essays and inserts, publications and film series elsewhere, TSC will highlight cultural discontentment and contingencies as well as pleasures, ways of thinking materialised on the brink of the visual/verbal.
The first TSC exhibition will feature the film La Pudeur ou l’Impudeur (1991) by the French writer and photographer Hervé Guibert (1955–91).
