Aeromatic Art Project, one of Hugo Roelandt’s great performances, will be re-staged for the first time since 1985 as part of Playground 2016 at M – Museum Leuven. The piece turns the movement of model helicopters into a meditation on the age-old human desire to fly, alluding specifically to the work of Leonardo and Panamarenko. Aeromatic Art Project is one of a series of choreographies for machines (telephones, cars, windscreen wipers) that Roelandt realised in the early 1980s.

A collaboration between M – Museum Leuven, the Estate of Hugo Roelandt and Objectif Exhibitions, as part of the Hugo Roelandt Research Project.
